2Line.AI vs Quo (formerly OpenPhone)

2Line.AI or Quo (formerly OpenPhone)?

Quo (formerly OpenPhone) is a business phone system priced per user, built for teams sharing numbers. Its AI agent, Sona, includes 10 answered calls a month, then is billed per call. 2Line.AI is built for owners who work alone or with a small crew: one plan, and Mia answers as many calls as your credits cover, books jobs and texts the caller.

Who each is for

Quo (formerly OpenPhone) is for teams. Numbers and inboxes are shared, pricing is per user (Starter is $15 a user a month billed yearly), and auto-replies cover texts, missed calls and voicemails. Its AI agent, Sona, includes 10 calls a month and then bills per call, $0.45 to $1.00 depending on tier. If several people need to see and answer the same customer threads, that’s what it’s built for.

2Line.AI is for the owner who is the team, or who leads a small crew from their own phone. There’s one plan per account instead of per-user pricing, and Mia has no monthly call cap: she uses credits only while she talks. She books appointments inside your hours, texts the caller what happens next and leaves a slip, and reminders, review requests and On my way texts are built in.

What a typical day looks like with each

With Quo (formerly OpenPhone)

A landscaping company with an office manager and two crew leads shares one Quo number and inbox. The office manager can reply to a customer’s text while a crew lead is on site, and everyone sees the same thread. When nobody can pick up, an auto-reply goes out, and Sona can answer the first 10 calls a month before per-call billing starts.

With 2Line.AI

A solo landscaper on 2Line.AI is mowing when a call comes in. Mia answers with the business name, asks for the address and what needs doing, and books an estimate visit inside the hours you set. The caller gets a text about what happens next. The next morning, one tap sends an On my way text with your arrival time, and after the job, a review request.

Choose 2Line.AI if

  • You’re the one answering the phone and want an AI receptionist that books jobs
  • You don’t want per-user pricing

Quo (formerly OpenPhone) may fit better if

  • You have a team that shares a number and an inbox
  • You need CRM integrations

Switching from Quo (formerly OpenPhone) to 2Line.AI

  1. Pick a new local number in 2Line.AI from the area codes near you. Porting isn’t supported, so this is a new number, not your Quo (formerly OpenPhone) number moved over.
  2. Set your business name, hours and caller ID name (up to 15 characters). Teach Mia from your business name or website, then call the new number from another phone to test her.
  3. Keep Quo (formerly OpenPhone) running while you switch, so anyone who still has the old number reaches you. A month or two of overlap is a sensible minimum.
  4. Tell your customers. Text your regulars from the new number, and change the old number’s voicemail greeting to give the new one.
  5. Update your Google Business Profile (Edit profile, then Contact, then Phone number), then your website, Apple Maps, Yelp, Facebook, cards and truck.
  6. When calls to the old number have slowed to a trickle, cancel Quo (formerly OpenPhone).

If your team shares a Quo inbox today, check that one owner per account works for you before you switch. 2Line.AI has no shared team inbox. Step-by-step help for Google is in our guide to changing your Google Business Profile phone number.

What 2Line.AI doesn’t do

Worth knowing before you choose:

  • No shared team inbox or per-user seats. Each account has one owner, with as many lines as you need.
  • No CRM, Google Calendar or Zapier integrations. Bookings sync to your iPhone Calendar, and leads and slips live in the app.
  • No number porting. You get a new local US number; you can’t move an existing number in.
  • No international numbers or calling. Numbers are US only, for calling and texting US numbers.
  • Calls, texts and Mia aren’t bundled into the plan; they use credits. At zero credits they pause until you add more, and your number stays yours.

Questions

Is 2Line.AI cheaper than Quo?
For one owner, 2Line.AI is one plan ($19.99 a month or $99.99 a year) with credits for use. Quo is priced per user. Which costs less depends on your call volume and team size.
Does 2Line.AI have shared team inboxes?
Not yet. Each account has one owner, with as many lines as you need.
Does Quo’s Sona book appointments?
Booking isn’t listed on Quo’s pricing page, so check Quo’s site for Sona’s current features. Mia books appointments inside your business hours during the call.
Do both send auto-replies to missed calls?
Yes. Quo lists auto-replies to texts, missed calls and voicemails. 2Line.AI sends a missed-call text, and after a call with Mia, one “what happens next” text.
Is there a cap on how many calls Mia answers?
There’s no monthly call cap. Mia uses credits while she talks, so what you can use depends on your credit balance.
How much does 2Line.AI cost?
$19.99 a month, or $99.99 a year with a 3-day free trial. Every plan starts with 100 credits for calls, texts and Mia, and credit packs start at 150 credits for $4.99. Full rates are on the pricing page.
