The basics
What is 2Line.AI?
2Line.AI is an app that gives you a second US phone number on your iPhone or Android phone, with Mia, an AI receptionist who answers calls you miss, books appointments and texts you a written summary.
How much does 2Line.AI cost?
$19.99 a month, or $99.99 a year with a 3-day free trial. Every plan starts with 100 credits for calls, texts and Mia. More credits come in packs: 150 for $4.99, 950 for $19.99, 4,000 for $59.99.
What are credits used for?
Credits pay for use: calls are 8 credits a minute from when they connect, Mia is 48 credits a minute while she's on the call, texts are 8 to send and 7 to receive. Missed calls and ring time are free.
Is it unlimited?
No. You pay for what you use with credits, so a quiet month costs less. There's no monthly refill: you add credits when you need them.
Do I need a second phone or SIM card?
No. 2Line runs as an app over Wi-Fi or mobile data, and calls ring with your phone's normal call screen.
Can I choose my area code?
Yes. You pick from four local numbers at a time, across the area codes near you, and can ask for a different set.
Can I keep my number if I cancel?
You can park your number for $6.99 a month instead of cancelling. If a plan ends without parking, the number is released before the next monthly carrier charge, unless you resubscribe first.
What happens when credits run out?
Calls, texts and Mia pause until you add credits. Your numbers stay yours, and the app stays fully viewable.
Does 2Line.AI work outside the US?
Numbers are US only, and calling and texting are for US numbers.
Can I call 911?
No. 2Line.AI uses internet calling and does not support emergency calls. Use your regular phone for emergencies.
How do I cancel?
Cancel any time in your App Store or Google Play subscriptions. You keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
Is my data private?
Recording is off unless you turn it on. Location sharing only happens when the other person agrees, and nothing about where they were is kept. See the privacy policy for details.
Getting started
How do I get a second number with 2Line.AI?
Pick one of four local numbers on 2line.ai or in the app, start a plan, and the number is yours. Calls work right away; texting turns on once US carriers approve the number, usually within a few hours.
Which phones does 2Line.AI work on?
Android phones through Google Play now; the iPhone app is coming soon to the App Store. You can also sign in on the web at 2line.ai/app to call and text from a browser.
How long does setup take?
A few minutes: pick a number, start the plan, turn on notifications, and optionally teach Mia about your business.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. The yearly plan ($99.99) starts with 3 days free. The monthly plan is $19.99 a month.
Do I need to sign in?
The apps link your account to Apple (iPhone) or Google (Android) so you can restore your number on a new phone. On the web you sign up with Google, Apple or email.
Mia, the AI receptionist
Who is Mia?
Mia by 2Line.AI is the AI receptionist built into the app. She answers calls on your 2Line number in your business name, asks what the caller needs, books appointments and leaves you a written slip.
When does Mia answer?
You choose: every call, only after hours, or only when you don’t pick up. You can switch her on or off from the app, a widget or Siri.
How do I teach Mia about my business?
In the app, open Teach Mia and add your business name, services, prices, hours and what counts as urgent. She uses that to answer callers and you can change it any time.
Can I hear Mia before customers do?
Yes. “Hear Mia answer a call” starts a test call with her inside the app. It uses no credits.
Can I take a call from Mia?
Yes. Tap Hand to me and the caller is passed to you. Mia’s rate stops and the normal call rate applies from then on.
Can Mia book appointments?
Yes. She offers times inside your business hours (Monday to Friday, 9 to 5 until you set your own), and the caller gets a confirmation and a reminder text.
What voices can Mia use?
Three: Warm (the default), Bright and Calm.
How much does Mia cost?
48 credits a minute from when she picks up. That’s about $0.72 a minute with the 4,000-credit pack, and every plan starts with 100 credits.
What does the caller get after talking to Mia?
One text saying what happens next, like when you’ll call back or the time they booked.
Is Mia related to other products called Mia?
No. Mia is the receptionist inside 2Line.AI and isn’t connected to other companies or apps with that name.
Numbers and lines
Can I have more than one number?
Yes. Your plan includes one number, and each extra number is 300 credits a month. All your lines live in the same app with their own label and color.
Can I change my number later?
Yes. Replacing a number costs 300 credits, and you pick the new one from the same kind of local list.
Can I bring my existing number to 2Line.AI?
Not at the moment. 2Line.AI gives you a new local US number; number porting isn’t supported.
Do you offer toll-free or international numbers?
No. 2Line.AI numbers are local US numbers only.
Can I set the caller ID name?
Yes, up to 15 characters per line, like your business name. Carriers can take a few days to show it.
Can I pause a line?
Yes. A paused line takes no calls or texts and the number stays yours. Turn it back on any time.
Calls, texts and voicemail
Does 2Line.AI use my carrier minutes?
No. Calls and texts go over Wi-Fi or mobile data, and incoming calls ring on your phone’s normal call screen.
Why does texting take a little while to turn on?
US carriers require business texting from local numbers to be registered (A2P 10DLC). 2Line.AI does this for you, and the app shows the status until it’s live.
Can I send pictures?
Yes. Picture messages are 22 credits to send and 13 to receive.
Does voicemail come with a transcript?
Yes. Voicemail is 7 credits a minute and includes the transcript, plus an AI summary if you leave summaries on.
Can I record calls?
Yes, when you turn recording on. Both people hear a spoken announcement before recording starts. It’s 7 extra credits a minute and includes a transcript.
Does 2Line.AI block spam calls?
Likely spam calls are labelled, and you can block or unblock any number with one tap.
Are missed calls charged?
No. Missed calls and ring time are free. Calls are counted from when they connect.
Billing and credits
Do credits refill every month?
No. Subscribing gives you 100 credits once. After that you buy packs when you need them: 150 for $4.99, 950 for $19.99 or 4,000 for $59.99.
Will I know when credits are low?
Yes. You get one alert when your balance dips below your chosen level (50 by default), and another if it reaches zero.
What is parking a number?
Instead of cancelling you can park your number for $6.99 a month. It’s paused but kept, and comes back on when you resubscribe.
What happens to my number if my plan ends?
Your numbers are paused and released before the next monthly carrier charge unless you resubscribe or park first. The app shows the release date.
How do refunds work?
Purchases in the apps are handled by the App Store or Google Play under their refund rules. For web purchases, email info@2line.ai.
Privacy and safety
Does 2Line.AI sell my data?
No. 2Line AI LLC does not sell personal information and does not use it for interest-based advertising. See the privacy policy.
How does location sharing work?
Only with consent. You send a link by text; the other person chooses how long to share and can stop any time. Nothing about where they were is kept afterwards.
Can customers see my personal number?
No. Calls and texts you make from your 2Line number show that number, not your personal one.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, tap Me, then Account, then Delete account. Or email info@2line.ai. Your numbers are released, and your subscription must be cancelled separately in the App Store or Google Play.
Features
Is a 2Line number a real phone number?
Yes. It's a US phone number with a local area code. Anyone can call or text it from any phone.
Can I keep my existing number?
Yes. Your personal number doesn't change. 2Line adds a second number next to it. Porting a number into 2Line isn't supported.
Do I need a SIM card or a second phone?
No. The number lives in the 2Line.AI app and works over Wi-Fi or mobile data on the phone you already have.
Does it work outside the US?
Numbers are US only. Calling and texting are for US numbers.
Can I call 911 from my 2Line number?
No. 2Line.AI doesn't support emergency calls. Use your phone's regular dialer for 911.
What happens to my number if I cancel?
When your plan ends, your numbers are paused and released near the start of the next month unless you resubscribe first. To keep your number without the full plan, you can park it for $6.99 a month.
Can callers tell she is an AI?
Mia speaks naturally and introduces herself by name. She doesn't pretend to be you.
What happens after Mia takes a call?
You get a slip with who called, what they need and a suggested next step, plus buttons to call back or text. The caller gets one text saying what happens next.
Can Mia put a caller through to me?
Yes. Tap Hand to me while she's talking, or add words that matter to you, like “leak”. When a caller says one, Mia connects them to you.
Can Mia answer only after hours?
Yes. Choose always, only after hours, or only when you don't pick up. You can switch from the app, a widget or Siri.
What if I run out of credits?
At zero credits, calls, texts and Mia pause. Callers hear busy and you get a notification to add credits. Your number stays yours.
Do I need a separate phone for my business number?
No. 2Line runs as an app on your current iPhone or Android phone, and in the web app at 2line.ai/app.
Can my team share the line?
Each account is one owner today, and there's no shared team inbox. You can run several lines from one account.
Is texting from the number allowed for business?
Yes. Your number is registered for business texting with US carriers as part of setup.
Can I put my 2Line number on Google Business Profile?
Yes. It's a local US number, so you can list it as your business phone. Use the same number everywhere you're listed.
Can I get a toll-free number?
No. 2Line numbers are local US numbers. Toll-free and international numbers aren't offered.
What are the default business hours?
Monday to Friday, 9 to 5, in your time zone, until you set your own in Business hours.
Does voicemail to text cost extra?
Voicemail is 7 credits a minute and includes the transcript. The AI summary is 1 credit per call.
Can Mia answer instead of voicemail?
Yes. Choose whether calls go to Mia or to voicemail when you don't pick up.
Can I share a voicemail?
Yes. Share the audio or transcript from the voicemail's page.
Can I record my own voicemail greeting?
Yes. Record your own in the app or keep the standard one. You can also record a vacation greeting for closed dates.
Can I search my voicemails?
Yes. Recordings lets you search names, notes and transcripts across voicemails and recorded calls.
Do missed calls cost anything if nobody leaves a message?
No. Missed calls and ring time are free. You only pay for the voicemail minutes left.
Do blocked callers get texted back?
No. Missed-call texts, reminders and review requests are never sent to blocked numbers.
Does blocking cost credits?
No. Blocking and spam labels are free.
Can I unblock someone?
Yes, from Blocked numbers or right after blocking with undo.
What does “Likely spam” mean?
It's a label on calls that look like robocalls, shown for numbers that aren't in your People. It's a warning, not a block, so you decide.
Will silencing unknown callers make me miss customers?
No. Silenced callers don't ring your phone, but Mia still answers them and leaves you a slip with who called and why.
Does 2Line.AI stop every spam call?
No tool catches every one. Labels, one-tap blocking and Mia screening keep most of the noise off your phone.
What does a missed-call text cost?
It's a normal text: 8 credits. The missed call itself is free.
Can I turn it off for some callers?
Yes. Send it to new callers only, pick which lines it runs on, or turn it off. Blocked and likely-spam numbers never get it.
Does it work after hours?
Yes. It goes out whenever a call is missed.
Will a caller get two texts if Mia answered?
No. After a Mia call they get one “what happens next” text, and the missed-call text isn't sent.
How often can the same person get it?
At most once a day from each line, however many times they call.
Why didn't a caller get my text?
Usually because they're blocked or likely spam, already got one today, Mia took the call, texting on a new number is still registering, or you're out of credits.
Does it sync with my calendar?
Bookings live in the app. On iPhone, Mia can check the calendars you pick for busy times and avoid them. Only the times are copied. Google Calendar and CRM integrations aren't offered.
What are the default hours?
Monday to Friday, 9 to 5, until you set your own.
Can I book appointments myself?
Yes. Add a booking from the app in a few taps.
Can customers reschedule by text?
Yes. They reply R to the reminder and the booking is marked to reschedule, so you can call or text them a new time. C confirms it.
Will Mia book outside my hours?
No. She only offers open times inside your business hours and appointment length, and skips closed dates.
How do review requests work?
Tap Job done on a booking. You get 5 seconds to undo, then the review text goes out after the delay you chose, with your review link.
Is call recording legal?
Laws differ by state, and some need everyone's consent. 2Line plays a notice so everyone on the call knows it's being recorded. Check the rules where you work.
Does the other person know the call is recorded?
Yes. When you tap Record, everyone on the call hears “This call is now being recorded.”
Can I start recording partway through a call?
Yes. Tap Record at any point. Only the part after you tap it is recorded.
How much does call recording cost?
7 credits a minute on top of the call (8 credits a minute), including the transcript. The AI summary is 1 credit.
Can I delete recordings?
Yes, any time, from the call's page.
Are Mia's calls recorded too?
Mia calls come with a transcript and summary so you know what was said.
How much does a text cost?
8 credits to send, 7 to receive. Pictures are 22 to send and 13 to receive.
Why does texting say 'registering' at first?
Carriers approve business texting for each new number. The app shows the status until it's live.
Can customers reply STOP?
Yes. Program messages honor STOP and HELP.
How do quotes work?
Pick items from Mia's price list and send. The customer sees each item and the total. If they reply YES or Y within 7 days, the quote is marked accepted and you get a notification.
Does On my way share my location all the time?
No. Live location is optional and only for that trip. The customer can see it until you stop sharing, and nothing is stored.
Can I text a group?
Yes. Group texts go out from your 2Line number, and everyone in the group sees every reply.
How much is an extra line?
300 credits a month, charged when it's activated and then every 30 days.
Which number do outgoing calls use?
You choose a default for outgoing calls and texts, and can switch per call.
Can each line have its own greeting and hours?
Yes. Each line can answer as its own business with its own greeting, hours and Mia rules, or share one you already set up.
Can I change a line's number?
Yes. Replacing a number costs 300 credits, charged at the switch. You pick the new one from four nearby numbers.
What does parking a number do?
