Who each is for
Nextiva is for businesses that want phones, customer experience and contact-center tools on one platform. Plans run from $15 to $75 a user a month, and listed small-business prices need a 12-month or longer agreement. Its AI employee, XBert, costs $99 a month and handles phone, chat and SMS, routing to your team, and Nextiva connects to Salesforce, HubSpot, Zendesk and more.
2Line.AI is for a solo owner or small crew who want one plan, monthly or yearly. Mia answers in your business name, books appointments inside your hours, texts the caller what happens next and leaves a slip. Voicemail to text with an AI summary, missed-call texts, reminders and review requests are built in, with no long agreement and no per-user pricing.
What a typical day looks like with each
With Nextiva
A property management company with a support team uses Nextiva. XBert answers phone, chat and text inquiries and routes them to the right person, voicemails come with AI transcription, and conversations reach the team’s helpdesk through its integrations. Each person’s line is billed per user under the yearly agreement.
With 2Line.AI
A one-person property manager on 2Line.AI gets a call about a leaking sink while showing a unit. Mia answers with the business name, takes the address and the problem, and hands the call to you because it’s urgent. Someone asking about a viewing gets booked inside your hours. You read both slips in the car and text back from the same number.
Choose 2Line.AI if
- You’re a solo owner or small crew and want one plan, monthly or yearly
- You want the receptionist to book appointments into your hours
Nextiva may fit better if
- You need a contact center, helpdesk or CRM integrations
- You have a team that needs per-user phone lines
Switching from Nextiva to 2Line.AI
- Pick a new local number in 2Line.AI from the area codes near you. Porting isn’t supported, so this is a new number, not your Nextiva number moved over.
- Set your business name, hours and caller ID name (up to 15 characters). Teach Mia from your business name or website, then call the new number from another phone to test her.
- Keep Nextiva running while you switch, so anyone who still has the old number reaches you. A month or two of overlap is a sensible minimum.
- Tell your customers. Text your regulars from the new number, and change the old number’s voicemail greeting to give the new one.
- Update your Google Business Profile (Edit profile, then Contact, then Phone number), then your website, Apple Maps, Yelp, Facebook, cards and truck.
- When calls to the old number have slowed to a trickle, cancel Nextiva.
Check your Nextiva agreement’s end date before you switch, since the listed small-business prices come with a 12-month or longer term. Step-by-step help for Google is in our guide to changing your Google Business Profile phone number.
What 2Line.AI doesn’t do
Worth knowing before you choose:
- No shared team inbox or per-user seats. Each account has one owner, with as many lines as you need.
- No CRM, Google Calendar or Zapier integrations. Bookings sync to your iPhone Calendar, and leads and slips live in the app.
- No web chat. 2Line.AI handles calls and texts on your business number.
- No number porting. You get a new local US number; you can’t move an existing number in.
- Calls, texts and Mia aren’t bundled into the plan; they use credits. At zero credits they pause until you add more, and your number stays yours.
