2Line.AI vs MySudo

2Line.AI or MySudo?

MySudo is a privacy app where each identity (a Sudo) can have its own phone number, email and encrypted messaging, with paid plans from $1.99 a month. 2Line.AI is a business phone line with Mia, an AI receptionist who answers calls, books appointments and texts the caller what happens next.

Who each is for

MySudo is for people who want to split their life into separate identities. Each Sudo can have its own phone number, email and encrypted messaging, and plans are inexpensive: SudoGo is $1.99 a month for 1 number with 30 minutes and 100 messages, SudoPro $4.99 for 3 numbers, and SudoMax $14.99 for 9. If privacy across phone, email and browsing is the goal, it covers more ground than a phone app does.

2Line.AI is for business calls. It keeps your personal number private by giving customers a separate business number, but its focus is what happens on those calls: Mia answers in your business name, books appointments inside your hours, texts the caller what happens next and leaves you a slip. It’s built for one business owner, with extra lines when you need them.

What a typical day looks like with each

With MySudo

You’re a freelance photographer with a Sudo for client work. Clients call and message that identity’s number and email it the shoot details, all kept apart from your personal accounts. When you’re on a shoot, calls wait until you’re free, and your plan’s minutes and messages set how much you can use each month.

With 2Line.AI

On 2Line.AI, a client calls during a shoot and Mia answers with your studio’s name. She asks the date, the location and what kind of shoot, and books a consultation inside your hours. She can text a quote from your prices. You check the slip between sessions, and if a call can’t wait, you tap Hand to me while Mia is still talking.

Choose 2Line.AI if

  • You need a business number that answers, books and follows up for you

MySudo may fit better if

  • You want privacy identities with email and encrypted messaging
  • You want several numbers for a few dollars a month

Switching from MySudo to 2Line.AI

  1. Pick a new local number in 2Line.AI from the area codes near you. Porting isn’t supported, so this is a new number, not your MySudo number moved over.
  2. Set your business name, hours and caller ID name (up to 15 characters). Teach Mia from your business name or website, then call the new number from another phone to test her.
  3. Keep MySudo running while you switch, so anyone who still has the old number reaches you. A month or two of overlap is a sensible minimum.
  4. Tell your customers. Text your regulars from the new number, and change the old number’s voicemail greeting to give the new one.
  5. Update your Google Business Profile (Edit profile, then Contact, then Phone number), then your website, Apple Maps, Yelp, Facebook, cards and truck.
  6. When calls to the old number have slowed to a trickle, cancel MySudo.

If you use other parts of your Sudo, such as its email or encrypted messaging, you can keep those and move only your business calls to 2Line.AI. Step-by-step help for Google is in our guide to changing your Google Business Profile phone number.

What 2Line.AI doesn’t do

Worth knowing before you choose:

  • No disposable or anonymous numbers. A 2Line number is meant to stay the same, so customers can keep calling it.
  • No number porting. You get a new local US number; you can’t move an existing number in.
  • No international numbers or calling. Numbers are US only, for calling and texting US numbers.
  • Calls, texts and Mia aren’t bundled into the plan; they use credits. At zero credits they pause until you add more, and your number stays yours.
  • No shared team inbox or per-user seats. Each account has one owner, with as many lines as you need.
